August West's Musky Glider

If you're on the hunt for an esox trophy, August West's Musky Glider has the lifelike properties of bait suspension and glide convincing enough for the most discerning Musky. This fly is tied on a custom shank made by West and is meant to be custom tuned to meet your fishing conditions (See tuning instructions). This fly features a drop shank and split ring allowing for on demand hook changes.

TUNING INSTRUCTIONS

The goal is to get a balanced, side-to-side action when stripping the bait. Before tuning, test the bait by letting it sink. Using the tip of the rod, twitch the bait at a generous speed. If the bait tends to pull to one side, tuning is needed. With a pair of pliers, twist the eye of the hook the opposite way of which it was pulling. You may also need to bend the shank into a slight curve. A well tuned fly will evenly swim with a side-to-side action without pulling to one direction or swimming on it's side.
