Tied by Missouri River local tyer and long time guide Dave Bloom, the Weight Fly was originally tied to help sink a pmd mayfly nymph when fished in tandem. Dave found the majority of fish would ignore the pmd and take the Weight Fly. The tungesten bead allows the fly to sink low and fast, great for deep buckets or fast moving riffles. Dave says it's best dead drifted as the top fly to help sink a more natural imitation, a deadly combination in 2-4 foot deep riffle water.
