- CDC Collar for more movement
- Jigs style hook for less snags
Riffing a timeless classic, the Fly Project Imperial IPT picks up where the original left off. Fred Telleen submitted this pattern with the Missouri River in mind and we named it the Imperial IPT because, well, Fred likes to enjoy IPA's from time to time. It works well before and during BWO and mayfly hatches in general. The pattern holds tradition with a body of pheasant tail fibers and synthetic thorax, but boasts a "flavorful" CDC collar and bead head and is tied jig style. Go ahead, bounce it off the bottom where the fish feed, you'll have a hard time getting snagged. Buy a couple, a handful or fill a pint, you can't have too many Imperial IPT's in your fly box.
