ONE ROD TO DO IT ALL

We spent many nights in a cold shed on the Missouri River in Montana spinning handles on our mini lathe, drying epoxy, gluing corks together, and testing components before we came up with the Project One. We wanted to develop a single hand rod that was fast and cut the wind but still had soul for a baetis or PMD hatch.

Now better than ever, the Project One is a 4-piece quality carbon fly rod with enhanced components. Given the moderate fast action of this rod series, you can cover a magnitude of fly-fishing applications, from casting tiny dries on small water to chucking heavy wind resistant flies for pike. We used our original mini full wells handle and capped it with enamel for better line control and durability. Single foot guides allow for maximum casting distance and a lighter feel in hand.

On the 3wt – 5wt traditional models and the 10ft 5wt – 6wt boat nymphing models, the reel seat has a spalted maple insert with single locking nuts. We included a micro fighting butt to protect the bottom of the rod, fight bigger fish, and save your fly reel from gravel with lining up.

On the 9ft 6wt – 8wt heavy weight models, the reel seat is one-piece machined aluminum with dual locking nuts. This seat construction eliminates any failures and allows the rod to be fished in any condition (freshwater, saltwater, or muddy water). We added a large fighting butt to these models to protect the bottom of the rod, fight giants, and save your fly reel from gravel when lining up.

FLY PROJECT ROD TUBE MANIFESTO

Project One Spey rods include the rod and a quality rod sock. Rod tubes are not included in the price of the rod. We did this to give you the choice of what to spend your money on.
