JJ Special

If you are addicted to streamer fishing there is a solid chance that your first love was the JJ Special. This was one of the first streamers to break tradition and innovate on top of the very successful and infamous Wooly Bugger. The JJ Special was developed by Jim Jones (JJ) of Jackson, Wyoming and imitates everything from a baitfish to a crawfish. Although the pattern is generally meant to be stripped like a streamer, it catches fish dead swung or nymphed as well. This pattern is often viewed as a trout pattern but is absolutely a deadly smallmouth bass pattern as well, and can be affective on many other species.
