Backing Indicators: The two partially milled windows feature a dividing bar across the slots. Fill to the bottom of the crossbar for an 8-weight line, or to the top for a 7-weight line.

Drag Adjustment: The GTS 7/8 offers a three-turn drag system. The first turn is perfect for 4x and 5x tippet work, the second is for managing game fish requiring heavier tippet and larger flies, and the third turn provides maximum drag for breaking leaders, lines, or rods.

Carbon Fiber Drag: This reel features four friction surfaces designed for extremely low startup inertia.

Spool Release Cap: If the cap becomes stuck, simply use a 1” or 24 mm socket or a gentle adjustable wrench to loosen it.

Lightweight Design: Our innovative spool design, with precisely turned angles and milled walls, results in the strongest and lightest spool we've ever created.

Hooker Feature: Similar to the GTX, the hooker is positioned on the handle side to hold your fly or keep the tippet in place for storage or while on a walk in the woods.
