We spent many nights in a cold shed on the Missouri River in Montana spinning handles on our mini lathe, drying epoxy, gluing corks together, and testing components before we came up with the Project One. We wanted to develop a single hand rod that was fast and cut the wind but still had soul for a baetis or PMD hatch.
The Project One is a 4 piece fast action carbon rod that gets progressively faster as you move up in line weight. Meaning the action on the 8 wt is quicker than the 3 wt. We used our signature mini full wells handle that isn't too small at the top for better line control. All the guides are single foot guides for maximum casting distance and better movement of the carbon blank when flexed. The reel seat is one piece machined aluminum to eliminate any failures and so the rod can be fished in any condition. We added a mini fighting butt to all the rods to protect the bottom of the rod, fight giants on a 3wt, and save your fly reel from gravel when lining up.
The Project One comes in 7 different 9’ models from 3-8wt with a special edition 10ft 6wt and 5wt that we developed just for larger still water fisheries.
Comes with a protective rod sock. Rod tube sold separately.
