- Synthetic tying material
- Blends well with natural fibers such as bucktail, feathers and ostrich
- Durable fibers with natural movement, though not as quick to tangle like other synthetics
Squimpish hair was discovered and made popular by tier David Nelson, also known as 'Mr. Squimpish'. David is known for using mostly natural fibers, though when he discovered squimpish hair, he found it behaved very similar to bucktail. Though nothing can imitate or replace bucktail completely, squimpish hair is a good substitute and blends perfectly with natural fly tying materials. This tapered synthetic hair is tied in to a carpet like platform much like craft fur. It feels similar to big fly fiber or long fibered craft fur. It absorbs water and gives patterns a realistic swim action. The fibers are durable and stand up against toothy critters like pike and musky.
