Kelly Galloup's Goober Caddis

Sometimes, to come up with a new caddis pattern, one must see the real thing from a new perspective, or better yet a trout's perspective. Sitting in his truck one day, Kelly Galloup watched a caddis crawl across his windshield and realized it was simple from a fish’s point of view. Notably so, Kelly took to the vise to tie the Goober Caddis, a pattern designed to imitate the natural from the bottom up. Kelly claims that this fly is "the best slow water caddis imitation" he has ever fished, and it also performs well in fast water.
