Phil Rowley's Greater Water Floatman

Despite its name, this pattern is intended to imitate a backswimmer, the larger more aggressive cousin of the water boatman. In England, backswimmers are often referred to as greater waterboatman hence the pattern name. This fly is designed to ride upside down just like a natural backswimmer. Fish this pattern at the surface when trout are focused on returning backswimmers or use a sinking line to drag this fly down. This is a great point fly on a washing line set up when both boatmen and backswimmers are active.
