Phil Rowley's Grey Boy

Phil Rowley's Grey Boy is an excellent chironomid pupa pattern as its coloration matches the most common pupa color, black. It is in its prime when the pupae are beginning to stage along the bottom prior to emergence before becoming shiny and inflated with gas. The hot orange spot makes this pattern stand out amongst the crowd of the natural pupa.
