There is CDC is nearly all of Rene Harrop's dry fly patterns. If your elk hair caddis pattern isn't getting it done drop the elk hair for CDC and you have the Harrop's Palmered Caddis. Best to use this fly on tailwaters or where trout are being choosy and you are getting denied with regular caddis dry fly patterns.
