Paul and Sam took Cooper fishing!
Paul and Sam took Cooper fishing! Paul did the right thing and started throwing a streamer, not just any streamer, TFP Jigged Zirdle (TFPJZ). Paul caught a few fish, including a monster Brown Trout. Obviously, after a fish like that, it’s time to row. Sam caught some MO fish on dries, but Cooper still was fishless. Eventually, a perfectly presented fly to the shore by Cooper got the attention of a trout. Sam let the river know, Cooper caught a fish. Verbal high fives and smiles from the boat.
The best part of this Project in the Wild episode is the classic evening caddis hatch. Sam, Paul and Cooper all caught fish within 15 minutes of each other. Moments like that is what keeps the Missouri River at the core of The Fly Project.
